Who wears Maternal Journey pendants?
Moms and moms-to-be...grandmas and nanas...doulas and midwives...sisters and godmothers...nannies and childcare providers... All women are on this magical and mysterious maternal journey - whether we have given birth to a child or simply embody the nurturing qualities that all mamas share.

How is the jewelry made?
Each piece begins as a series of sketches. Once I like the general direction and concept, I put the pencil away and pick up a small block of wax and a few simple hand tools. I cut, carve and file the wax and see what becomes of that idea from my sketch book. Final wax models are then cast in sterling silver, polished and knotted on a sturdy black rubber cord.

Are these nursing necklaces?
Nursing babies (breast or bottle) sometimes need a distraction to catch their attention and keep little fingers busy while feeding. A Maternal Journey pendant can be a safe and soothing object to make nursing more relaxing for mom and baby. Our pendants are secured with a sturdy knot on strong, yet flexible rubber cord that will give a little with baby's tugs.
Please remember to use extra caution while wearing any jewelry near your baby, and never let your child play with or wear your Maternal Journey pendant when you are not. Your pendant is worn at your own risk and Maternal Journey will not be held liable for any damage or injury incurred.

Do your pendants have special properties or powers?
The power of the pendant lies within the one who wears it. For ages, people have found strength in wearing charms, talismans, and sacred ornaments to bring health, prosperity and luck. We hope you'll enjoy all of these things while wearing your Maternal Journey pendant, though we can make no guarantees or predictions of their effects.

Do you do custom designs?
Definitely maybe! I would love to work with you to design a one-of-a-kind design. Email me and we can discuss the possibilities.


Orders, Shipping and Returns

When will I receive my order?
Each piece is made to order and will be shipped within a week. Orders are shipped within the 50 United States by U.S. Priority Mail ($8 flat fee is charged for shipping and handling).

Is gift wrap available?
Each pendant is shipped in a beautiful chocolate-colored gift box, ready for a simple bow or a more elaborate wrap.

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept the major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). Orders are processed using PayPal.

What is your return policy?
As with all handmade items, some "imperfections" are actually considered part of the beauty of the piece. But if you find your necklace to be defective or if you simply don't like it, please contact us to discuss an exchange or return. In the spirit of the journey, our return policy is 9 months from the date of purchase.

What if I decide to cancel my order?
Kindly notify Maternal Journey within 48 hours of order placement to cancel.
